Financial Services > Car lnsurance > Women Only Car insurance Introduction
Quite simply, because women are considered to be safer drivers than men, this is not to say that women are involved in fewer accidents, what it means is that the size of women’s claims, tends to be smaller. Men (statistically) are involved in more serious accidents than their female counterparts. Therefore insurance companies pay less out for women. Women tend to drive more slowly than men, they do (on average), less mileage per year, and drive for shorter distances. For all these reasons insurance companies usually offer women a lower insurance premium.
The biggest difference in the severity of claims, is in the under thirties. Insurance companies are reluctant to offer young men lower payments, as they are considered to be high risk, and even though more young women are admitting to being aggressive on the road, in general women’s claims are still smaller, and until these statistics change, insurance companies will continue to pass these savings on to women. In the over thirties the difference in claims between men and women is minimal, therefore there is little difference in the premiums between the sexes.
Most insurers will offer cheaper insurance to female drivers, therefore all you will need to do is check out some of our links, through which you will be able to get an on-line quote from some of the top insurance companies in the UK. Not all the sites are for female only car insurers, this is because depending on your age, car type etc., you may find that the normal insurance companies, offer you a lower quote than the female only insurers. We recommend that you look into at least three of the insurance companies so you can find the cheapest, and best cover for your vehicle.
