Allianz launches car insurance app

A new iPhone and Android app has been launched to help people avoid making claims on their car insurance .

The application, from insurance provider Allianz, is called Find and Drive and GPS technology help drivers to locate their nearest amenities, such as car parks, petrol stations, tyre centres and MOT test stations.

It also comes with a range of extra features that could interest car insurance holders, including automatic alerts to remind motorists of important upcoming renewal dates and the need for regular vehicle checks, such as tyre pressures and oil levels.

Furthermore, the app offers safe driving tips in varying weather conditions and seasonal vehicle maintenance guides to help drivers prepare and protect their vehicles and ensure they are in a roadworthy condition.

Andy James, head of direct customer marketing for Allianz Retail, said: "We appreciate that millions of motorists are Smartphone users and this simple-to-use app provides useful information needed to maintain both their vehicle and insurance requirements."

Allianz recently launched a new online-only car insurance offering called Your Cover insurance.
