Britons given car insurance warning

Thu, 06 Jan 2011

The Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) has reminded drivers about the dangers of forgetting to buy car insurance, which4u.co.uk reports.

The organisation said that while it can be easy to sideline financial concerns over the busy New Year period, it is imperative that motorists do not fall in this trap.

As many as 500 cars are currently being seized every day as a result of people taking to the roads without adequate insurance.

Natalie Pinkham, who is part of the campaign being run by the MIB, told the news provider: "Many of us are short of cash at this time of year, but driving without insurance is false economy."

This comes after Moneysupermarket.com recently urged car insurance customers to consider paying their costs in monthly instalments.

The price comparison website warned that failing to identify the best car insurance deals could prove rather costly in the long-term.
