Hastings Direct car insurance given extra Defaqto star

Hastings Direct has been awarded an additional star by Defaqto for its car insurance products.

A Defaqto Star Rating is awarded on the basis of the quality of a financial product helping consumers to make a more informed decision about which product best suits their needs.

Hastings Direct car insurance is now rated as 4 Star by Defaqto.

"We have taken on board many of our customer comments about how to improve our products creating greater value without additional cost and we are delighted that the features of our motor insurance have been recognised by Defaqto with an additional star," remarked Murray Fox, head of motor insurance at Hastings Direct.  

"Defaqto Star Ratings offer consumers a good benchmark, other than price," according to Mr Fox. Car insurance claims typically rise during the winter months due to there being fewer hours of daylight and slippery roads.
