Your job title impacts more on the cost of your car insurance than many consumers realise, it has been argued.
Writing for ladymotor.co.uk, Fiona Clarke observes that certain jobs are labelled as high risk because of factors linked to the profession.
Solicitors, police officers and teachers are, for instance, said to get an easy ride when it comes to car insurance .
In contrast, students are labeled as high risk and are therefore forced to fork out more for their car insurance cover .
"Age is also a factor for students because, as a rule, students are in their late teens or early 20's so they don't have a great deal of driving experience," Ms Clarke noted.
Meanwhile, the leading car insurance provider Sheilas Wheels announced plans to extend its brand into a driving academy that will launch in spring 2011.
The firm revealed that it will use the knowledge of women's claims and driving characteristics to tailor lessons that will provide learners with more knowledge to stay safe.
