Car insurance company confirms growth

Wed, 19 May 2010

Car insurance company Admiral has said that it expects to have recruited 751 new members of staff in 2010 by the end of June.

The firm has already taken on 490 extra people, adding to the news, announced in March, that it had a £1 billion turnover in 2009 while also recently passing the two million customer mark.

The growth of the company has been put down partly to staff satisfaction, achieved through free share schemes, fun events and free fruit.

Ceri Assiratti, people services manager at Admiral, said: "We're delighted to be bucking the trend and are able to take on so many new members of staff in a difficult time.

"We are lucky to be in the business we are, car insurance is a compulsory purchase so is not badly affected by recession."

Admiral recently suggested that households with more than one car should think about choosing the organisation's MultiCar insurance product.

The advice came after research showed that the number of households owning more than one car has risen by around 17 per cent in the last decade.
