Car insurance customers may want to make sure they have breakdown cover on their policy before they set off on their Easter break.
Santander Car Insurance has warned that one in four drivers will set off without such cover, something that puts them at risk of having to pay out a lot of money if their motor fails them through the busy holiday weekend.
Miguel Sard, chief executive of Santander Insurance UK, urged drivers to consider taking out a car insurance policy that includes cover, such as his company's Total Superservice'.
He added: "The last thing anyone wants on their holiday is to breakdown, but with even longer delays on the roads being predicted because of the strikes, we expect this to be a very busy weekend for some in the hard shoulder.
"Savvy drivers can both cut costs and keep their cover if they can find the right deal."
Moneysupermarket.com has also reminded motorists that it is worth checking if the breakdown cover also includes extras such as caravan cover .
