Men and women are concerned about different components of their car insurance policies, it has been revealed.
Research conducted by Defaqto shows women motorists see covering the cost of replacing car locks following the theft or loss of car keys as being one of the most important aspects of their car insurance policy .
However, the survey, which took into account the views of more than 5,000 people, found men see this cover feature as being far less significant.
According to Mike Powell, insight analyst for general insurance at Defaqto, those looking to secure car lock replacement cover need to check the policy details carefully as different providers offer different levels of protection.
"Where cover is given, most policies will pay for the costs of replacing the locks, subject to any policy limit," he commented.
"Other policies also include cover for the costs of replacing the vehicle's lock transmitter and central locking interface, and the affected parts of the alarm and/or immobiliser."
Last week, the Co-operative Insurance revealed 41 per cent of parents are guilty of "fronting" their children's car insurance despite knowing they are committing a criminal offence.
