Car insurance provider AXA has revealed that 800 lives are lost on Britain's roads through accidents caused by road rage or disrespectful driving.
Further to this, AXA said that £35 of each of our annual motor insurance premiums pays for these accidents.
Indeed, the firm has claimed that many hundreds of lives and £945 million of premium could be saved if motorists were to be less aggressive and disrespectful of their fellow drivers.
Craig Staniland, AXA insurance director for motor, commented: "We are very concerned that a continued lack of respect on the road will drive up premiums further.
" Personal injury costs are escalating as it is - if we can cut back the number of accidents through a less aggressive and more considerate approach to the way we drive then it will be to the benefit of all drivers."
Meanwhile, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) revealed recently that car insurance fraud went up last year.
The ABI said that there were 122,000 insurance claims worth £840 million in 2009, up 14 per cent on 2008.
