Swiftcover.com, the online car insurance firm, is celebrating its first five years in business.
In that time, the company has insured enough vehicles to form a line of family hatchbacks stretching more than 42 times around the M25 motorway.
Indeed, since its launch in June 2005, swiftcover.com has insured more than 1.8 million vehicles, while it has also insured more than 1.4 million drivers.
Tina Shortle, swiftcover.com's marketing director, remarked: "To have insured that many drivers and that many vehicles is quite a feat for an insurance company that was only created five years ago.
"It's testament to our commitment to making car insurance hassle-free and cheap."
Earlier this week, Fortis revealed its intention to expand its range of cheap car insurance for young drivers with the acquisition of Kwik Fit Insurance Services.
Having received regulatory approval, the firm is set to increase its existing customer base of around seven million by a further 600,000.
