Rock star Iggy Pop is to front a £25 million car insurance advertising campaign, it has been revealed.
The Lust for Life star will become the face of Swiftcover.com in a move the firm claims marks a change in car insurance advertising.
According to the firm, Iggy will be used to highlight its Get a Life strategy, which claims to demonstrate the time that can be saved by shopping for car insurance online .
Tina Shortle, marketing director at the car insurance firm, said: "The new campaign is an exciting step for Swiftcover.com and one which we think will create great stand out in this highly competitive marketplace."
In the advert, Iggy recalls that he has not seen his birth certificate for years, a move aimed at underlining the convenience of storing documents online.
Last week, the South Wales Argus reported the case of Ryan Ford, 17, who faced a £600 increase in his car insurance premium when he passed his driving test .
