Car insurance discount on offer

People are being offered the chance to save 25 per cent on their car insurance through a new course.

The Ride Drive Insurance Scheme guarantees the discount for as long as a driver remains claims free after they pass an advanced driving test .

A partnership between Ride Drive and Adrian Flux Insurance Services, the latter guarantees to cut the cost of cover when a successful driver's cover comes up for renewal.

Julian Smith, director at organisers Ride Drive, said: "Drivers with high performance cars - and commensurately high insurance - can often save much more than the course costs, straight away."

Those driving more ordinary motors will still make a saving as the 25 per cent car insurance discount should allow them to save more than the cost of the qualification in the long run, he added.

Yesterday, Moneysupermarket.com advised people to steer clear of specialist car insurance firms as women-only brands and other similar products tend to be more expensive than traditional cover.
