More drivers in Swansea put in car insurance claims than in any other city in the UK, recent research has revealed.
According to a survey by a car insurance company, the SA4 postcode area produces more insurance claims per head of population than any other region, reports BBC News.
Grant Bather, a spokesperson for Virgin Money, said: "Our data suggests you are more likely to have to make a car insurance claim following an incident there [in Swansea] than in any other place in the country."
He explained that this could involve being in an accident or having a vehicle broken into, vandalised or stolen.
However, Mr Bather added that this does not mean Swansea is a dangerous area and said the chances of drivers being involved in a collision are only slightly higher than in other cities in the UK.
This comes after insurance firm LV urged motorists not to cut down on spending in the current economic downturn by skimping on car insurance, pointing out that this is a legal requirement when taking to the nation's roads.
