Those looking to save money during the credit crunch by spending a vacation in a caravan or mobile home are being encouraged to save even further by shopping around for better motor insurance deals .
Fourteen million British people are expected to holiday in their caravans or motor homes this year, a two million increase on 2008, according to the National Caravan Council .
Motor insurance company CaravanQuoter.co.uk has said that while caravan holidays are fun and cheap, costs can be cut even further by making sure motor insurance deals are the best available.
George McGonigal, director from CaravanQuoter.co.uk, said: "Many motor home and caravan owners are not aware that there are specialist insurers who can provide a low cost insurance solution for those holidaying on a home-from-home basis."
Price comparison site moneysupermarket.com recently added to the number of motor insurance brands available for evaluation, bringing its total to over 100.
