Marcus Atkinson, international marketing director for the firm, explained that the international breakdown policy will be underwritten by Axa Assistance.
He said: "We are delighted with the new partnership that we have established with Axa Assistance, which has enabled us to provide this premium breakdown package to our clients."
This will add to Hagerty's current insurance package, which has been recognised by the Advertising Standards Authority as the most comprehensive available for UK-based classic cars .
Yesterday, thegreencarwebsite.co.uk reported comments by Ian Crowder, spokesperson for the AA, who warned that people who car share to business meetings might need to change their insurance policy to cover occasional business use.
