Those who find they have to make regular claims on their car insurance might be able to put it down to their birthday, new research claims.
According to a study by insurance website elephant.co.uk, drivers who were born in December are the most dangerous drivers.
The firm looked at the number of car insurance claims and traffic offences motorists have clocked up and found that dates in 12th month feature in the top ten of risky driving birthdays more frequently than any other.
Brain Martin, elephant.co.uk managing director, said: "It was interesting to see those with more unusual birthdays like February 29th and December 24th featured in the top three of worst drivers."
However, motorists born on these dates need not worry as birthdays are not taken into account when people apply for car insurance, he added.
Yesterday, Hagerty International, which offers classic car insurance, announced it will be adding breakdown cover in the UK as a benefit in its standard policy.
