Del Boy could end up paying more for his car insurance than James Bond, according to new research.
A study by Confused.com reveals that despite the fact the Only Fools and Horses trader drives a modest Reliant Robin, living in Peckham means car insurance firms view him as a greater risk.
If he fails to shop around for his car insurance, Del Boy could pay £928.50 a year for his car insurance, compared to as little as £885.65 for the Aston Martin DBS driving Ian Fleming creation.
Will Thomas, head of car insurance at Confused.com, said: "With an increasing amount of people feeling the financial squeeze, as a result of the credit crunch, it is more important than ever to search for the best car insurance deals ."
The average driver could save up to £208 a year by shopping around for their car insurance, he added.
Recently, a YouGov study conducted on behalf of Comparethemarket.com, found that 25 per cent of people have lied about the main driver of a vehicle on their car insurance.
