Drivers are at greater risk of an accident as British Summer Time comes to an end, one car insurance firm has warned.
According to More Than Business, car insurance accident claims increase by an average of around five per cent in the two weeks each side of the clocks going back.
Mike Bowman, head of the car insurance firm, said: "This is always the worst month of the year for motorists and our claims officers are already reporting a rising volume of vehicle accident claims."
People who are driving in twilight should take extra care and put their headlamps on as this is a particularly dangerous time to be on the roads, he added.
Drivers should also make sure they leave a good distance between their vehicle and the one in front, the car insurance expert stated.
Yesterday, swiftcover.com suggested that people looking to save money on their car insurance might want to switch to a second hand car.
According to the firm, premiums for such vehicles are lower as they cost less to replace than new vehicles.
