According to popular switching website uSwitch, as many as one million pounds of car insurance claims are made per hour in the UK. uSwitch tested the reasons behind the vehicle insurance claims by making a driving theory test for 2,500 drivers with limited experience.
The company found that just 1 per cent of those surveyed got all questions right, and, more surprisingly 34 per cent got under half the questions right. Driver error, uSwitch say, could be behind a significant proportion of car insurance claims. The uSwitch study reveals some alarming trends amongst UK motorists .
According to the report, some third of the 2,500 drivers were unaware of the national speed limit, meaning if scaled up as many as 13 million motorists may be unaware of this fact.
In other motor insurance news, car insurance policies are expected to become more expensive later this year.
