Car insurance cost on the rise

Thu, 01 May 2008

The cost of car insurance could increase by as much as ten per cent over the course of the year, it has been claimed.

According to Sean Gardner of MoneyExpert.com, the increased cost of car insurance is putting pressure on people who are already struggling with rising prices in other walks of life.

Those who find themselves in such a situation should shop around for a better car insurance deal, he stated.

Mr Gardner said: "It is worrying that when faced with an increase in car insurance premiums of more than double the rate of inflation so many drivers just shrug their shoulders and accept it."

He added that by shopping around for car insurance, drivers could lessen the impact of rising petrol prices .

Yesterday, Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive for the British Insurance Brokers' Association, claimed that car insurance policies are available to suit all budgets.
