The level of cover offered by a car insurance policy is the most important factor for those who remain loyal to their provider, a new study reveals.
A survey conducted by TescoCompare.com found that only 45 per cent of people who have been with a car insurance provider for five to ten years cite price as the most important factor when choosing a policy, compared to 71 per cent of people who switched companies in the last year.
It also found that of those who have been with the same car insurance provider for more than ten years, 44 per cent say the level of cover is the most important factor, with a further 25 per cent singling out a particular feature of their policy.
Last week, Tina Shortle of Swiftcover.com claimed that UK drivers could save a total of £1.9 million a year by shopping around for their car insurance.
