Car insurance customers who are looking to save on their cover might lose some features, one firm has warned.
According to Tescocompare.com, if people base their car insurance cover simply on choice, they might find they do not have protection when driving abroad .
If people then want to add overseas cover to their car insurance, they could find that the savings are eaten up.
Paul Baxter, spokesperson for Tescocompare.com, said: "While you may think third party cover is enough, if you are involved in a shunt in a rural Spanish village, you'll soon realise that having comprehensive cover is a necessity."
Because of this, people should compare the features of a car insurance policy, as well as the price.
Last week, the Daily Telegraph recommended that people pay their car insurance in one lump sum.
According to the newspaper, if people spread the cost through direct debit, then they will end up paying more.
