People who do not have a "normal" vehicle might find it harder to get car insurance, one expert has warned.
Writing for financial website Fool.co.uk, Neil Faulkner explains that people who have a classic, imported or modified vehicle might find that car insurance is difficult to come by.
He recommends that people take the time to look at specialist car insurance firms as these are more likely to offer a good price.
Mr Faulkner says: "The big insurers with minimal interest in such things as classic cars or modified vehicles don't take into account how well they are looked after by the owners."
Specialist car insurance firms also take into consideration the fact that people usually drive classic vehicles less often than their everyday car, he adds.
Last week, a survey by Tescocompare.com revealed that just 32 per cent of car insurance customers switched providers in the last year.
A further 36 per cent stated that they have not switched car insurance firms for three years or more.
