The insurance company Norwich Union has made it clear that consumers looking for car insurance could get a more competitive quote by shopping online, as opposed to traditional insurance purchase direct. A statement, issued by company spokesman Erik Nelson, indicates that consumers could wipe 10 per cent of their car insurance premium by shopping online .
Furthermore, Nelson pointed out other ways in which car insurance customers could save money . For instance, Nelson reportedly commented: "I dont think many people are aware that putting a named driver on your licence will give you a discount."
Nelson also pointed out that motorists could save money by storing a car in a garage, and those doing a low mileage could choose a pay-as-you-drive insurance policy . Norwich Union are currently offering customers advice on their insurance options.
