Car insurance holders are very particular about where they park their car, new research suggests.
Conducted by Halifax Estate Agents, 13 per cent of car insurance holders have tried to stop someone from parking outside their property .
Those in the north of England are most concerned with parking 20 per cent of motorists claiming to have attempted to prevent fellow drivers from parking in front of their property.
Female car insurance holders prefer to talk the motorists about the issue, whereas 36 per cent of men would choose to leave a note on the vehicle compared to 21 per cent of women.
Managing director of Halifax Estate Agents Colin Kemp notes that motorists can become protective over parking areas.
"If your property does not have adequate allocated parking space, take some care and consideration for others when parking your vehicle as this can prevent any issues from arising," he remarked.
Recently, the Association of British Insurers advised rugby fans who are planning to drive to France for the world cup to check their car insurance policies before they leave.
