Car insurance customers should protect no-claims

Mon, 01 Oct 2007

According to recent research by uSwitch.com, as many as 7.7 million car insurance consumers throughout the UK could be facing the danger of a premium increase by failing to protect their no-claims bonus .

The price comparison and online switching company have claimed that car insurance buyers are not protecting themselves well enough. The site pointed out that if consumers were to have a crash, they could face an insurance premium hike of £92 per year.

An insurance expert from the site, Ashton Berkhauer, reportedly commented: "As the cost of claims [continues] to rise, insurers will increase premiums to cover their costs. No-claims bonus protection plays a really important role as it covers motorists against premium hikes when they make a claim ."
