Car insurance customers are more likely to make a claim in London than any other UK city, a new report has indicated.
Data supplied by car insurance company Admiral found that four areas of the capital are in the top ten hotspots for car crime over the last 18 months.
Indeed, the top three places for car crime were all identified as being inside the city, which may well have implications for motorists' car insurance policies if they live in one of these locations.
However, at the other end of the scale, motorists living in Fraserburgh, Irvine and Ayr, all in Scotland, are likely to find that their car insurance premiums are lower than other places in the UK.
Admiral managing director Sue Longthorn said: "We expect car crime to be higher in inner-city areas, but it's surprising to see that 40 per cent of the top ten are in one city, even if it is London."
A recent study by moneysupermarket.com found that drivers in London and the north-west get "hammered" when it comes to buying car insurance deals.
