Free breakdown cover offer targets car insurance customers

Car insurance customers can now get two months of breakdown cover for free under the terms of a new limited-period offer.

From now until June 19th 2007, financial services provider Tesco Instant Car Breakdown Cover is offering a complimentary breakdown package to all new customers who apply over the phone, online or in a Tesco superstore.

To put the mind of motor insurance customers at ease, the financial services company has pointed out that its services are provided by Green Flag - the UK's third largest breakdown group.

And motorists may be reassured to hear that the average recovery time for stranded motorists currently stands at 40 minutes.

Commenting, Allan Burns, head of insurance at Tesco Personal Finance, has urged car insurance customers to shop around for breakdown cover.

"Many motorists don't realise that the car breakdown cover is a highly competitive market," he said.

"They should look for the best combination of quality and cost in the same way they do from their car insurance provider."

Depending on the terms of a breakdown policy, motorists who find their vehicle stops working may be entitled to be transported to their original destination at no extra cost as well as receiving financing support towards car repair work.
