Prospective car owners are wary of buying a vehicle from an independent dealer, a new survey has discovered, in news that may be of interest to car insurance policy holders.
According to research conducted by the AA, 80 per cent of car buyers will not buy their new vehicle from an independent dealer and 59 per cent find car salesmen to be "untrustworthy".
In response to the figures, the AA is to produce a tips and advice booklet for car hunters to make sure they will be buying a vehicle that it is worth having a car insurance policy on.
"We've teamed up with car expert Giles Chapman and used the expertise of The AA Team, who are dedicated to getting a better deal for people on their insurance," head of AA Car Insurance Janet Pell remarks.
Those looking to buy a car must do their homework first, Ms Pell states, so they know what questions to ask, what they're looking for and will feel confident in purchasing a vehicle.
