UK motorists have been warned that failing to find the right deal for their car insurance could cost them money.
James Harrison, chief executive of Insurancewide, has claimed that a large number of British drivers renew their annual car insurance policy, rather than shopping around for the best deal on the market.
Mr Harrison commented in the wake of Co-operative Insurance's recent announcement that it would be spending £1.3 million in an attempt to raise awareness of its eco-friendly car insurance story.
Co-operative Insurance states that its car insurance policy can help environmentally-conscious drivers to reduce their carbon footprint.
Mr Harrison welcomes the new policy, but warns that motorists must compare it with other car insurance premiums in order to find the best deal.
"Switching to such a comprehensive eco-friendly insurance policy is definitely an attractive prospect as long as eco-insurance contains all the benefits that exist in your current policy and as long as consumers compare the non-green features on a like-for-like basis before making the decision to switch."
