England supporters travelling to the World Cup this summer have been advised to check the autobahn code and their car insurance.
Churchill, which provides home insurance, car insurance and travel insurance has stated that UK motorists could be "in danger" of ending up with a bill larger than the cost of their holiday.
All car insurance providers are required to cover third party cover for travel abroad, but this will not cover any damage or loss to the driver's own vehicle or possessions, states the company.
Churchill has also provided a set of safety guidelines to travellers, such as being aware of German drink-driving laws, speed limits, carrying a first-aid kit and making sure you drive on the right-hand side of the road.
Frances Browning, spokesperson for Churchill car insurance, said: "While many fans will have their mind on England's performance on the pitch, motorists should check their policy before leaving on their trip.
"Those that aren't fully covered could face an average hefty repatriation charge of around £800."
Record numbers of England fans are expected to travel to Germany this summer to cheer on Beckham and the team; high crowds have also been recorded for recent England friendly matches.
