Car insurance to cut shopping bill

Motorists taking out car insurance from Tesco will receive a gift card to use at any Tesco store or petrol filling station, it has been announced today.

A £20 Tesco gift card will be given to all new car insurance policyholders who sign up for car insurance on the insurance company's website or via the telephone.

Those applying online for car insurance also qualify for an additional discount of ten per cent.

Last year it was revealed that one in 20 motorists are driving without insurance.

The Association of British Insurers calculated that accidents involving these drivers cost up to £500 million annually and adds some £30 to car insurance policies.

More than 1.4 million motorists have already signed up for car insurance from Tesco, which is one of the UK's top five car insurance providers.

Tesco Car Insurance offers comprehensive car insurance cover at "competitive" premiums.

Optional breakdown assistance and van insurance are available from Tesco Car Insurance.

The insurance company also offers home insurance, car breakdown assistance, pet insurance, life insurance and travel insurance.

Those who would like to qualify for the Tesco gift card offer need to sign up for car insurance before the end of April this year.
