Insurance company relaunches motorbike cover

Mon, 27 Feb 2006

A leading insurance company has relaunched one of its vehicle insurance products.

Motorcycle insurance is once more available from AA Insurance, with a range of insurance packages designed to cover all types of two-wheelers.

The insurance packages are available exclusively through Europa Group's MotorCycle Direct brand and also offer cover for scooters and limited-mileage users.

Despite the fact that the motorcycle market has been "relatively static" in recent years, many city-dwellers and commuters are seemingly considering making use of "economical two-wheeled transport", according to the insurance company's general manager, John Close.

"With the recent increase in London's congestion charge and other cities considering congestion charging, there is a clear attraction in using a charge-free motorcycle or scooter to get around the capital," he states.

Mr Close says he would be "surprised" if there was a quicker way to get through city rush-hour traffic than on a motorbike.

Many AA Insurance customers with car insurance policies have enquired about motorcycle insurance, leading to the relaunch of this insurance product, Mr Close explains.
