Norwich Union has launched a new online car insurance policy, which officials claim will appeal to "internet bargain hunters".
The car insurance deal, named Simple Cover, is only available online, which the company claims will lead to customers benefiting from savings made on overheads.
Simple Cover includes fully comprehensive car insurance, a claims team available 24 hours a day, protected no claims discounts and local rate calls when customers make a claim.
However, the car insurance policy does not include personal accident cover, medical expenses or cover for driving other cars.
Mark Godfrey, head of Norwich Union Direct Motor Marketing, said: "Easy and straightforward, Simple Cover is the perfect solution for time-poor, internet savvy motorists on the look-out for quality insurance at cheaper prices."
Many financial services, such as insurance, personal loans and credit cards, now offer discounted rates online.
An internet expert at WebEx, Bert Van Der Zwan, recently claimed that the online medium would become the "central cornerstone of the company of the future", predicting the technology to become vital for customers.
