Drivers are being warned by Sainsbury's Bank to check if they are receiving the best quality car insurance from their policies.
This follows after the car insurance provider found that less than two per cent of car insurance providers match Sainsbury's Bank's 70 per cent no claims discount.
Its research further shows that one in ten car insurance policies fail to include a courtesy car as standard. Sainsbury's also offers up to £10,000 personal accident cover, compared to the average £4,810.
"Intense" competition in the car insurance industry might tempt some drivers to give up elements of their car insurance policies in order to keep their premium costs down, says Joanne Mallon, car insurance manager at Sainsbury's Bank.
But it is not impossible to find quality car insurance cover at a competitive rate, she says.
"Premiums are important when buying car insurance but so too is the quality of cover," she says.
The car insurance provider claims that its competitive premiums could save motorists up to 28 per cent.
An extensive range of cover and benefits, like the use of a courtesy car, further adds to the car insurance provider's claim of being the most competitive car insurance provider.
