Yorkshire Building Society has announced that it is to start providing car insurance.
The Society has joined forces with Royal & SunAlliance in order to provide the branded car insurance product.
According to Ian Bullock, the Yorkshire's general manager of sales and marketing, the launch of the Society's car insurance is a natural extension of its existing range of insurance products.
He continued: "Customers both existing and new, will benefit from a hugely competitive product and should see them making savings from even the most famous direct brands - including the little red telephone!"
With car insurance by the Yorkshire, car insurance policyholders would always have access to a vehicle, no matter what state their own car is in.
Car insurance policyholders would receive a free courtesy car to use when their car needs to be repaired. A hire car would be available for the car insurance policyholder's use if their car gets stolen, immobilised or recoverable.
A three-year guarantee applies to reparations done by recommended repairers.
Car insurance policyholders that make no claims would see their no-claims discount increase annually up to a maximum of 70 per cent.
In the first year, those who apply online for car insurance qualify for an extra 7.5 per cent discount, and free European cover for 45 days is included in all car insurance policies.
